Amazon AWS and OpenAI Forge $38 Billion AI Infrastructure Partnership
Amazon Web Services (AWS) and OpenAI have entered a multi-year strategic partnership valued at $38 billion, effective immediately. The deal grants OpenAI expanding access to AWS's high-performance computing infrastructure, including Amazon EC2 UltraServers with hundreds of thousands of chips and scalability to tens of millions of CPUs.
The architecture features clustered Nvidia GB200/GB300 GPUs on UltraServers, optimized for low-latency AI workloads. "Scaling frontier AI requires massive, reliable compute," stated OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, emphasizing the partnership's role in strengthening the AI ecosystem. The infrastructure will support OpenAI's advanced generative AI models through AWS's global cloud network.
